After a short break over the Christmas the music groups in the school are all back rehearsing again.
The School Choir barely got a chance to rest their voices after the Oíche Cheoil when they were back preparing for the Confirmation in February. They have a demanding schedule as the Confirmation is packed with music that will add to the special occasion. The 6th Class children will now get the opportunity to experience Confirmation and the beautiful music from the congregation.
On Wednesday, the 7th of December 2016, the school are hosting their annual Oíche Cheoil. This is a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to showcase their musical talent. All of the groups involved have been working extremely hard over the past number of weeks and it is a great event to get us all into the holiday spirit! The groups participating include;
The Choir - 80 children from 4th to 6th Class
Scoil Rock - 7 children, including guitarists, drummer, bassist and vocalist
Folk Group - 25 children from 3rd and 4th Class
Grùpa Traidisiúnta and Tin Whistle Group - 25 children from 3rd to 6th Class
Boys’ Choral Group - 7 boys
Drama Group – 22 pupils from 3rd to 6th Class.
This is the musical highlight of the year and is bound to be a huge success. We wish our pupils the very best of luck and all in attendance a most enjoyable evening.
