On the 18th of January, internationally renowned storyteller, Niall De Burca, came to visit our school.
Niall tells stories and old Irish legends, which he tweaks to make funny and for kids to enjoy.
Each year group got a 40 min slot, listening to his hilarious stories. It was a unique take on history. He was energetic and VERY funny. He made hilarious faces and introduced us to interesting and creative characters.
Not only was he hilarious, but he also educated us on the rich history of our country. Some of the legends he included were the Salmon of Knowledge and a myth about the creation of the world. He also included a story about our beloved Mr. Connolly, who was famous for his storytelling in St. Colmcille’s too.
We all thoroughly enjoyed listening to him and learned a lot about the art of storytelling.
