I gasped with joy when I knew I would be spending Christmas with my cousins!! I scrambled up the stairs and stuffed my suitcase with everything I needed. I hopped into the car and soon enough we were on our way to Kerry. I nearly screamed with happiness when I saw it….the long stone house, green grass roof and a deep, red door. We all rushed into the warm, snuggly winter cottage. Beyond there were snow-capped mountains and in front, was the everlasting deep, blue sea. My cousin helped me unpack into the golden, wooden chest.
I awoke with a thump the next morning. It was my cousin rattling me to get up. We both stomped down the stairs together and swung the door open. My mouth dropped!! There was a big pile of beautifully wrapped present, just for me! I nearly fell over with excitement. I crawled over and tore the paper off. I couldn’t believe it, I had so many presents!
Later on, after I had played with all my presents, we had dinner. We all sat around the crackling fire and ate the perfectly glazed ham, creamy mash potato and all other colourful vegetables. We sang songs and watched a Christmas movie until it was our bedtime. Before I went to my warm, cozy bed I brought with me my favourite, perfect present of all…a snow globe with a model of the exact house we were in!
